Eastern Fly Carpers was started by Nick Raftas in an effort to advance the sport of fly fishing for carp in the eastern United States.  Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and New York have some phenomenal carp fisheries and more and more fly anglers are waking up to that fact. 

 

Nick Raftas has been fly fishing for over 25 years.  In 2012, Nick joined Sky Blue Outfitters as a guide targeting trout, bass, carp, and pike in central and eastern Pennsylvania. 

 

In addition to guiding Nick hosts trips regularly to the Upper Delaware River, the famed rivers of Missoula Montana, steelhead rivers of Michigan and to the Outer Banks for redfish and sea trout.  

 

Field and Stream featured Nick on fall fishing tactics for large brown trout.  Nick has also contributed to Field and Stream’s Hook Shots in a carp fishing video as well as in a steelhead fishing video on the Pere Marquette and Manistee Rivers.
